Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women. It is important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer so that you can get early treatment if needed.
In this article, we will explain the 6 most common symptoms and treatment options for breast cancer.

• A lump or thickening in the breast or armpit: This is often the first sign of breast cancer. If you find a lump or a thickening in the breast or armpit, it doesn’t necessarily mean you have cancer, but it is important to get it checked out by a healthcare professional.

• Changes in the size or shape of the breast: This can include the breast becoming larger or smaller, or the shape of the breast changes.

• Changes in the skin of the breast: This can include the skin looking red or inflamed, or the skin developing ridges or pitting (like the skin of an orange).

• Nipple discharge: This can include bloody or clear discharge from the nipple.

• Nipple inversion: This is when the nipple turns inward instead of pointing outward.

• Swelling of the breast: This can include a feeling of heaviness or fullness in the breast or armpit.

If you experience any of these symptoms, it is important to see a healthcare professional as soon as possible. Early detection and treatment can improve the chances of a successful outcome.

Breast cancer is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that affects millions of women around the world. It is important to seek treatment as soon as possible, as early detection and treatment can improve the chances of successful treatment and recovery. There are several treatment options available for breast cancer, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy.

Surgery is the most common treatment for breast cancer. Depending on the type and stage of cancer, different types of surgery may be recommended. A lumpectomy is a procedure that removes the tumour and some of the surrounding tissue, while a mastectomy removes the entire breast.

Radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumours. It can be used alone or in combination with surgery or chemotherapy.

Chemotherapy is the use of drugs to kill cancer cells. It can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other treatments.

Targeted therapy is a newer treatment option that targets specific molecules in cancer cells. It can be used in combination with other treatments.

Hormone therapy is used to stop the growth of cancer cells that need certain hormones to survive. It is often used in combination with other treatments. No matter which treatment option is chosen, it is important to have a discussion with your doctor about the risks and benefits of each treatment option. It is also important to seek support from family and friends during treatment. Treatment for breast cancer can be a long and difficult journey, but with the right support and treatment, it is possible to beat the disease and live a healthy life.

Now, with the help of novel technology, it is possible to find out effective cancer treatment for an individual. CanCertain test can help to find out the effectiveness of cancer treatment before it is offered to the patient thus CanCertain® can help to save time, reduce side effects and improve the chances of survival.

CanCertain® can help the patients:

with advanced-stage cancer or metastasis

where cancer has recurred

whose cancer is not responding to traditional treatments

with multiple treatment options

experiencing too many side effects from my current treatment

being told that there are no other treatment options available to me

that have or (or think they may have) developed resistance to their current treatment

Have you ever wondered how personalized cancer treatment can help?

In this article, we will discuss how personalized cancer treatment works and how it improves the quality of life of a cancer patient by finding the best-suited treatment in the first shot and by saving them money and time.

Cancer, as we know is a disease that involves abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. There are so many theories about cancer from the history about the occurrence to its toxicity and how it would spread.

As the studies are done and the advancement of the science occurred understanding about cancer became more clear and so the development of cancer treatments were outlined. The treatment of cancer includes surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy are known largely.

Surgeries are to remove the tumours in initial stages, and radiation therapy is to damage the DNA of cancerous tissue by ionizing radiation to kill them. Whereas chemotherapy is the treatment with one or more cytotoxic drugs as a standardized regimen. Traditional chemotherapeutic agents act by killing rapidly dividing cells, critical cancer cells property. It was then noticed that the combination of drugs is more effective than a single drug.

Also, it has observed that same type of cancer shows different responses to the chemo drugs used in different individuals. Hence, the studies were done to identify the best treatment for the individual patient with the help of protein and other markers present in the cancer cells. This is known as personalized treatment.

Then there is a hurdle in treating the patients in the form of resistance developed by cancer cells known as chemoresistance. Treating physicians face this challenge of resistance also known as chemoresistance, and as the cancer cells develop the resistance to the treatment drugs one by one, it becomes a headache to stop the tumour growth and further metastasization occurs.

To identify the drugs best suited for the patient in personalized treatment and find the best of them that is actively killing the cancer cells in a tumour, the researchers are working from decades. As an outcome of the studies done by scientists, we now can use cancer cells from blood or fresh biopsies of cancer to isolate and grow these cancer cells into 3D structure mimicking the tumour like environment. This helps to identify the sensitivity of cancer cells to the drugs that can be used to treat the patient. And we can find the best active chemo drug that can be used in chemotherapy or in personalized treatment.

This is said as Chemosensitivity test using 3D cell culture technique that helps physicians to select the best responsive drug or drug combination against cancer cells to the patient. This helps the patient to get the best personalized treatment with minimal exposure to unnecessary chemo drugs which would not be of any help against cancer that they are fighting and avoids side effects. That leads to improved quality of patients life and also gives better over-all survival period to patient.

Now in its fifth year, the innovation contest was open to small and medium-sized businesses across the region Twelve businesses have been shortlisted for the Innovation Showcase Competition at Venturefest North West 2018. Now in its fifth year, the contest was open to small and medium-sized businesses across the region and attracted a record 173 entrants.

They were competing across four categories including: product innovation, service innovation, digital innovation and innovative established business. There is also an overall winner and audience winner which will be chosen by attendees after the finalists make their pitches at the Manchester Central event on Thursday September 13. Each award comes with thousands of pounds worth of business support for the winner, provided by organisers GC Business Growth Hub and its partners. The competition is one of the highlights of the Venturefest North West 2018 programme, sponsored by NatWest, Dehns, Manchester Metropolitan University and Pomegranate Consulting. A full programme includes keynote speeches from Jenny Tooth CEO of the UK Business Angels Association and Richard Noble project director of the Bloodhound Super Sonic Car project, which will attempt to break the land speed record next year. Richard said: “Nothing about the Bloodhound project is easy and it never will be, but success here will bring great rewards in terms of education and confidence.

“I’m looking forward to sharing some of my learnings and experiences, as innovation is something that should apply to all businesses, large or small, in the north-west and across the country.” More than 1,000 attendees are expected at the event, where they will have access to business leaders and entrepreneurs, potential new partners, collaboration opportunities and a wide range of support. Heather Waters, national enterprise manager at headline sponsor NatWest, said: “We know that entrepreneurs and small business owners are looking for more than a provider of financial services. “They want a bank that helps them to concentrate on what’s important to them – establishing and growing their business. “That’s why we’re delighted to support Venturefest North West 2018 and be part of an event which gives businesses in the region the opportunity to innovate, grow and access the knowledge, finance and expertise they need to progress to the next stage of their business journey.”

Premier Corporate Finance, a leading UK funding and M&A specialist, is pleased to announce that it has advised CLYZ Labs on an initial seed fund raising in support of their mission to develop a testing service for personalised cancer treatment. Manchester UK, 8th August 2018 – CLYZ Labs, an award-winning early-stage cancer diagnostics company, today announced that the first clinical trial involving its innovative Cancertain test has secured all regulatory approvals following a seed investment from the GM&C Life Sciences Fund, managed by Catapult Ventures.

Premier Corporate Finance supported CLYZ Labs in preparation for this fund-raising. CLYZ Labs, founded in 2017, are developing the Cancertain Assay as a service to select the best drug therapy for personalised cancer treatment. CLYZ Labs will combine information on drug sensitivity of the patient’s own tumor cells using innovative 3D Cell culture techniques along with biomarker and treatment guidelines to provide a personalised treatment recommendation. This is expected to increase life expectancy and reduce costs by selecting the best treatment option for an individual. CLYZ Labs has previously received funding from individual clinicians under SEIS and EIS Schemes, which supported pre-clinical development of the technology. The latest investment from GM&C Life Sciences Fund will enable the company to further optimise and validate the Cancertain Assay in patients with lung cancer and to generate much needed evidence in a clinical setting.

Dr Gareth King, Life Science Partner at Catapult Ventures, commented “Highly personalised cancer therapy is fast becoming the standard of care and I’ve been very impressed with the focus of CLYZ Labs team on improving outcomes for patients with cancer. CLYZ Labs is well positioned to provide a fully integrated service to support clinicians to provide the best treatment and care for patients. I look forward to the successful conclusion of this clinical trial.” Dr Himanshu Kataria, Director of CLYZ Labs, said “Lung cancer remains a major health problem with >65% patients dying within one year of diagnosis. We at CLYZ Labs are focused to ensure that every lung cancer patient gets the best chance at cancer treatment in the future. We welcome this initial investment from GM&C Life Sciences Fund, which will help us complete initial clinical validation of Cancertain Assay. Precision Medicine Tests require robust clinical and health economic evaluation before being made available to every patient under the NHS.

CLYZ Labs, an award-winning early-stage cancer diagnostics company, today announced that the first clinical trial involving its innovative Cancertain test has secured all regulatory approvals following a seed investment from the GM&C Life Sciences Fund, managed by Catapult Ventures.

We look forward to continue to work with the GM&C Life Sciences Fund and other investors to bring Cancertain Assay to every lung cancer patient in future.” Mr Rupert Lewis, Partner at Premier Corporate Finance, said “We are delighted to be able to support Himanshu in his quest to improve cancer care within the current healthcare environment in the UK and international markets. I look forward to assisting with the future success of CLYZ Labs”.

Early Stage Biotechnology Company CLYZ Labs receives HMRC Advanced Assurance for SEIS/EIS Scheme(s)

CLYZ Labs is pleased to announce that it has received the HMRC Advanced Assurance for SEIS/EIS Scheme(s).

The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) are government initiatives offering some of the most attractive tax breaks available in the UK. For the investor, it’s a tax efficient way to invest in small companies.

The EIS is aimed at the wealthier, sophisticated investors. People can invest up to £1,000,000 in any tax year and receive 30% tax relief. However, they are locked into the scheme for a minimum of three years. EIS seeks to encourage investment into unlisted companies.

“Being able to achieve the successful Advanced Assurance from HMRC in record time without having to answer additional queries, is a testament to the business planning work completed by the Founders and to the team at Sapphire Capital Partners LLP who assisted us in achieving this feat. Clyz Labs is committed to create a significant shareholder value; and having qualified for the government initiatives – The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS)- is an attractive incentive for investors to back the Clyz Mission to accelerate the development of new and existing therapies for the Cancer patients in UK and worldwide.” said Dr Himanshu Kataria – the founder & CEO of CLYZ labs.

Boyd Carson, Partner at Sapphire Capital Partners LLP added “Robust business plan and other preparatory work done by Clyz’s Directors helped us achieve this successful HMRC Advanced assurance within 5 weeks. We wish Clyz Labs every success in their mission to improve the health of cancer patients.”

Please do not hesitate to contact Zalak.Kataria@cancertain.com if you need any further information.
